Download File Download File: opengldrv_ut.zip (33.8 kb)

What Does It Do

This is the official Updated OpenGL Driver For Unreal Tounament. Ive seen lots of updated versions of OpenGL drivers but this one is by far the best. I run a nVidia 6800 Ultra and found only on Windows 64bit Edition. Direct3D to be slow on UT, this OpenGL driver works perfectly maintaining UT's look but running fast and smooth.

Using OpenGL can also fix the problem on some machines where UT run's too fast (it's like watching a video in fast forward).

Install

First download the file : )
Go to your Unrealtournament System directory.
  Commonly in: c:\Program Files\Games\UnrealTournament\

Once there rename the file OpenGLDrv.dll to old-OpenGLDrv.dll this is just to backup your original.

Copy the downloaded new file OpenGLDrv.dll to the system directory.

Now this is the very important step. If you do not do this you will not get the benifits.
Open the text filefile UnrealTournament.ini found in your UT system folder. Find the section that look's like this:

[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=False
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=True
HighDetailActors=True
DetailTextures=True

Now open the text file openGL.txt that was included with the download. You will see this:

[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
UseS3TC=True
UseTNT=False
MinDepthBits=16
MaxLogUOverV=8
MaxLogVOverU=8
UseMultiTexture=True
UsePalette=True
UseAlphaPalette=False
ShareLists=False
AlwaysMipmap=False
DoPrecache=0
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=False
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=False
HighDetailActors=True
DetailTextures=True
UseTrilinear=True
MaxAnisotropy=0
SupportsLazyTextures=0
GammaOffset=0.000000
LODBias=0.000000
MaxTMUnits=0
RefreshRate=0
DisableSpecialDT=False
UseFilterSGIS=False
Use4444Textures=False
UseVertexSpecular=False
UsePrecache=False
Description=NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro

Copy the new settings from openGL.txt and paste them over the old settings in UnrealTournament.ini.

Finaly start Unreal Tournament goto Options > Preferences > Video then if you need to press Change > Show All Divices to select OpenGL as your video driver.
