Introduction

The aim of this introduction is to get you familiar with the layout of UED, where all the buttons are and what they do. Once this is accomplished we can move on to our first creation in UnrealEd 2.0 a basic room.

First you need to find the application UnrealEd 2.0 you wont see any icon in the start menu you will need to find it in the Unreal Tournament System directory. Commonly found in c:\Program Files\Games\UnrealTournament\System\

Other files you will soon need to start looking at are UnrealTournament.ini and UnrealEd.ini, but we will go through every aspect so dont panic :). Before starting UED2 the first thing I would do is to make a backup of the system directory. I called my folder ORIG_system I have found this is a good thing to do because every once in a while UED2 will open with a white screen and the only way to fix this is to restore a fresh copy of the system folder. Trust me its far quicker than re-installing UT.

Well this is it the standard UED application.
